World Trigger Strongest Character Ranking: The Definitive Power Scaling Analysis
If you’re a fan of Daisuke Ashihara’s sci-fi masterpiece, World Trigger, you already know this series is built different. It’s not just about who hits the hardest; it’s about high-stakes strategy, complex Lore, and tactical genius.
I’m diving deep into the world of Neighbors from across the Gate and the elite Border agents standing against them. What makes World Trigger so Goated is that battles aren't usually decided by sheer plot armor or "friendship power." As the series famously notes, if you fight 10 times, you might win some and lose some depending on the terrain and matchup. It’s a series where a lower-ranked fighter can take down a top-tier threat with the right plan.
Taking all the Feats from the latest chapters into account, I’ve put together the ultimate Strongest character ranking from Top 30 down to the absolute peak. Whether it’s Black Trigger users or Border’s finest, let’s see where your favorite ranks. (Heads up: Huge spoilers ahead for manga readers!)
The Scouting Report: 3 Standards for Power Scaling
In the World Trigger universe, raw Trion capacity isn't everything. To keep this ranking objective, I’ve based it on three key pillars:
Canonical Feats and Official Data Points
I’m sticking to the facts. This means analyzing the raw numbers from the "Border Briefing File" (BBF) and cross-referencing them with actual combat results in the manga. Individual ranks for Attackers and Gunners, plus performance in major events like the Large Scale Invasion and the Galopoula counter-raid, are the primary evidence.
Mental Fortitude and Side Effect Hax
Battle isn't just physical. Staying calm keeps your Trion body stable. I’ve factored in tactical IQ, split-second decision-making, and how OP certain Side Effects—like Foresight or Enhanced Sleep Memory—really are in a live-fire situation. Some characters punch way above their weight class because of these abilities.
Black Triggers vs. Normal Triggers
Black Triggers are "Legacy Class" weapons fueled by a life’s worth of Trion. They are naturally OP characters compared to standard agents. To win against one with a normal Trigger requires god-tier teamwork or absolute mastery. This ranking respects that gap but highlights legends like Shinoda or Tachikawa, who can close that distance with pure skill.
World Trigger Strongest Character Ranking: Top 30 to 1
No. 30: Yosuke Yoneya (Attacker)
Miwa Unit’s spear specialist. He uses a custom Kogetsu with "Gen'yo" to shift the blade's shape mid-swing. His trion is low, but his combat sense is off the charts. He lives for the fight and his unpredictability makes him a nightmare for Shield users. He played a huge role in taking down the massive Neighbor, Lambanein. However, he was outplayed by Kitora in the Black Trigger scramble, putting him at the start of our list.
No. 29: Ai Kitora (All-Rounder)
Arashiyama Unit’s elite prodigy. Kitora is an All-Rounder who uses Scorpion and Spider to dominate the battlefield. She turns her low trion into a non-issue by using terrain and wire traps to outmaneuver foes. Her solo kill on a Rabbit during the invasion proves her Feats are no joke. She outranks Yoneya due to her versatility, but she’d struggle against the raw speed of someone like Midorikawa.
No. 30: Shun Midorikawa (Attacker)
Kusakabe Unit’s young genius. He’s the master of "Grasshopper," using it for high-speed aerial combat. His "Pinball" technique is so fast most agents can't even see it. He set a record-breaking 4-second time in combat training. While Yoneya admits Midorikawa has more talent, he falls behind the tactical experience of a Unit Leader like Arashiyama.
No. 27: Jun Arashiyama (All-Rounder / Leader)
The face of Border. Arashiyama combines asteroid fire with "Teleporter" for an unpredictable hit-and-run style. During the Black Trigger arc, he took on high-tier A-Rankers like Izumi and Miwa with calm leadership. He can handle speedsters like Midorikawa by controlling the distance with Teleport. However, he has no direct answer to the massive AOE of the Ikoma Senku.
No. 26: Tatsuhito Ikoma (Attacker)
The King of Range among Attackers. His "Ikoma Senku" has a 40-meter reach—absolutely insane for a sword. He can cut through buildings and snipe Gunners from a distance. He even took down Yuma Kuga in Rank Wars. Arashiyama’s teleportation isn't safe when the slash covers the entire zone. But against a bullet-spamming genius like Izumi, Ikoma’s one-trick style hits a wall.
No. 25: Kohei Izumi (Shooter)
The bullet genius of Tachikawa Unit. Izumi’s trion is massive, allowing him to create complex "Composite Bullets" in seconds. He rained a thousand bullets down on Lambanein like a meteor shower. He outranges Ikoma and can attack from multiple angles. He only drops below Miwa because a Black Trigger-wielding Miwa can close the gap instantly.
No. 24: Shuji Miwa (All-Rounder / Fujin User)
Border’s Neighbor-hater #1. With his normal set, he uses "Lead Bullet" to weigh down and disable enemies. But with the Black Trigger Fujin, he becomes a god. Fujin allows him to send slashes anywhere within his sight. He managed to damage Hairein during the invasion. However, in a close-quarters duel, Yuba’s "Fastest Draw" could end the fight before Miwa even pulls the trigger.
No. 23: Takuma Yuba (Gunner)
The "Attacker Killer." Yuba sacrificed range for insane bullet speed and power. In a 1v1, he’s the fastest draw in Border, often killing opponents before they can even deploy a Shield. He’s the ultimate close-range duelist. But his "perfection in accuracy" becomes useless against the trickery of someone like Wen So, who uses illusions.
No. 22: Wen So (Neighbor - Galopoula)
A Galopoula infiltrator using the "Straw Soldier" (Servitra) trigger. She creates multiple holograms of herself, making it impossible to find the real body while she strikes from the shadows. She held off several Border agents at once. Her mind games would easily bypass a straight-shooter like Yuba. But against the AOE rings of Ratarykov, illusions get shredded.
No. 21: Ratarykov (Neighbor - Galopoula)
A soldier using "Despinis," a remote-controlled blade ring trigger. He can fight A-Rankers like Kazama on even ground, using his rings for simultaneous attack and defense. He can chain the rings to sweep a wide area, which would reveal Wen So’s real body. His weakness is the "Black Wall" of Koskero, which disables physical weapons on contact.
No. 20: Koskero (Neighbor - Galopoula)
Galopoula’s vice-leader. His trigger, "Nikokyra," creates a gel-like liquid that disables anything it touches. Blades won't cut, and bullets get neutralized. He took on Miwa and Yoneya at the same time and dominated with this hax. However, he lacks the offensive output to break through the "Enhanced Sleep Memory" and iron defense of Murakami.
No. 19: Ko Murakami (Attacker)
Ranked No. 4 Attacker with a literal cheat-code Side Effect. "Enhanced Sleep Memory" lets him learn and master an opponent's style just by sleeping after a fight. With his shield-sword combo, he’s a fortress. Once he learns the trick to Koskero’s gel, he wins. He’s essentially an A-Rank in a B-Rank body. He only loses to "instinct" fighters like Kageura, whose moves can't be purely theorized.
No. 18: Masato Kageura (Attacker)
A beast of an Attacker who would be No. 2 or 3 if it weren't for his disciplinary record. His "Mantis" technique extends his blades like whips, attacking from impossible angles. His Side Effect lets him sense "hostility" and "intent," making him immune to snipers or ambushes. He outplays Murakami by moving faster than the theory. However, Kazama’s "stealth" technique is designed to bypass this exact kind of sensing.
No. 17: Soya Kazama (Attacker)
The No. 2 Attacker in Border. He’s the master of "Chameleon" stealth and precise, cold-blooded kills. He specializes in taking down enemies much larger than himself. He’s the only one who can mask his presence well enough to bypass Kageura’s sense. But against the raw speed and "Geist" boost of Karasuma, stealth won't save you before the area is leveled.
No. 16: Kyosuke Karasuma (All-Rounder)
Tamakoma-1’s ace. His "Geist" trigger is a literal "Full Armor" mode that boosts his stats to ridiculous levels at the cost of stability. He held off Hairein alone. His explosive power and reaction speed would crush Kazama’s stealth. But Geist has a time limit, and Ninomiya has the trion to outlast and overwhelm anything with a constant barrage.
No. 15: Masataka Ninomiya (Shooter)
The No. 1 Shooter and No. 2 overall agent. Ninomiya stands in the middle of a warzone in a suit because his trion is so OP he doesn't need to dodge. His bullets shred Shields like paper. Karasuma’s Geist is a temporary peak, but Ninomiya is a constant storm. He only ranks below Reiji because Reiji’s "Full Arms" can tank the hit and close in with more raw firepower.
No. 14: Kizaki Reiji (Perfect All-Rounder)
The only "Perfect All-Rounder" in Border. He has over 10,000 points in every category. His "Full Arms" makes him a one-man army. He fought Viza and Hyuse at once, showing insane defensive hax. He has the firepower to push back Ninomiya. But Konami’s "Sogetsu" has a raw, explosive damage output that can cleave through even Reiji’s thickest armor.
No. 13: Kirie Konami (Attacker)
Tamakoma’s heavy hitter. Her "Sogetsu" battle-axe mode has enough power to one-shot a Rabbit. She’s been fighting since the old days and has a combat style that’s pure speed and power. She physically broke the Black-Trigger-level arms of Gatlin. But Tachikawa, the No. 1 Attacker, can parry that power and find the killing stroke with higher precision.
No. 12: Kei Tachikawa (Attacker)
The No. 1 Overall Agent and Attacker. Tachikawa is the peak of normal triggers. He uses dual Kogetsu and fires off Senku slashes like he’s breathing. He doesn't care how big or strong the Neighbor is; he just cuts them down. He is the standard for "Strength" in Border. But Hyuse’s "Lambiris" uses magnetism to move in ways physics shouldn't allow, out-haxing pure sword skills.
No. 11: Hyuse (Neighbor / Attacker)
Aftokrator’s elite and Tamakoma-2’s secret weapon. His "Lambiris" is a multi-purpose trigger that handles attack, defense, and movement. He can reflect bullets and create railgun-like acceleration. Plus, his "Horn" gives him trion levels that Border agents can only dream of. He out-muscles Tachikawa through raw trion and versatility. But Shinoda, the "Strongest Normal Trigger User," has the skill to cut through even this hax.
No. 10: Masafumi Shinoda (Commander)
The legend. He is Tachikawa’s mentor and formerly beat him 7 to 3. He’s the peak of human skill. During the invasion, his "Senku Kogetsu" sliced through entire buildings and decimated Enedora’s liquid body with pure speed and precision. He can fight Black Trigger Neighbors solo using just a normal blade. He only loses to Gatlin’s "Basilissa" because the physical durability of those mechanical arms is a hard wall for a normal blade.
No. 9: Gatlin (Neighbor - Galopoula Leader)
A man described as being on the same level as Shinoda. His "Basilissa" trigger gives him four mechanical arms with massive blades. He fought off Tachikawa, Konami, and Murakami at the same time and held the advantage. That Feat alone puts him in the elite tier. But Lambanein’s "Chelidon" has the flight and AOE firepower to nuke Gatlin from the sky.
No. 8: Lambanein (Neighbor - Aftokrator)
A walking tank. "Chelidon" gives him enough firepower to shred A-Rank shields effortlessly. He can fly and rain down destruction from above, making him nearly impossible to reach for ground-based fighters like Gatlin. He is pure destructive energy. But Mira’s "Speiraskia" can simply warp his attacks back at him.
No. 7: Mira (Neighbor - Aftokrator)
The strategist of Aftokrator. Her "Speiraskia" controls space. She creates portals to redirect attacks, teleport allies, and strike with needles from nowhere. She bypasses distance and armor. Her combat IQ is terrifying. But Enedora’s liquid body is immune to her needle strikes and can bypass her portals by turning into gas.
No. 6: Enedora (Neighbor - Aftokrator)
The user of "Vorvoros," a Black Trigger that lets him turn into solid, liquid, or gas. He is functionally immortal unless you find his moving trion organs. He wiped out Kazama Unit solo. Without a direct counter, he is unbeatable. But Hairein’s "Alektor" is his literal hard-counter, turning his liquid body into harmless cubes.
No. 5: Hairein (Neighbor - Aftokrator Leader)
The leader of the invasion. "Alektor" turns anything it touches into Trion Cubes. Blades, shields, and even Enedora’s liquid trion become useless blocks. He absorbs these cubes to heal and fuel himself. He is a walking game-over. The only way to beat him is to never get hit, which is where Jin’s Foresight comes in.
No. 4: Yuichi Jin (A-Rank / Elite)
The self-proclaimed "Powerhouse Elite." His Side Effect, "Foresight," lets him see the future from seconds to years ahead. Combined with the Black Trigger Fujin, he can strike targets through walls and around corners before they even move. He can see every possible trajectory of Hairein’s cubes and avoid them perfectly. He is Border’s ultimate weapon.
No. 3: Tsukohiko Amo (S-Rank)
Amo’s combat style is so destructive it turns an entire city district into a wasteland. His Side Effect lets him see the "Color" of a person's strength. According to Border HQ, his combat capability with his Black Trigger exceeds even Jin’s. While Jin sees the future, Amo simply deletes the area so there’s nowhere to hide. Pure destructive output puts him at No. 3.
No. 2: Yuma Kuga (Black Trigger)
Our other protagonist and a battle-hardened Neighbor veteran. His Black Trigger is a learning weapon that copies an opponent's abilities and turns them into "Seals." He has a "24-hour Trion Body" that hides his real form, allowing for lethal surprises. He would endure Amo’s destruction and counter-attack with boosted seals to find the win. But he couldn't beat Viza in a fair duel.
No. 1: Viza (Neighbor - Aftokrator)
The GOAT. The oldest and strongest warrior of Aftokrator. His "Organon" creates rings of ultra-high-speed blades that shred buildings and people like butter. It’s a wide-area disaster. He treated A-Rank Reiji like a child and dominated Yuma. Yuma only won because of Replica’s sacrifice and a suicidal gamble. The author stated Viza is the strongest in pure combat. He is the absolute peak of Power scaling in World Trigger.
Wrapping Up the World Trigger Rankings
There you have it—the definitive hierarchy of Border and the Neighborhood. While Viza takes the crown, remember that World Trigger is a game of chess, not checkers. Characters like Osamu Mikumo might not make a "Strongest" list, but their tactical minds are what truly turn the tide of war.
I’m hyped to see how the Away Mission test shakes up this ranking as Tamakoma-2 gets even stronger. Who do you think is the real No. 1? Did I do your favorite dirty? Let’s argue in the comments below!
